Jessica found her love for yoga at age 16. Initially self-taught, she eventually found a variety of classes to attend and enjoyed the energy of being in class.

Over the years, she attended several classes and practiced a variety of different styles of yoga. It was not until 2014 she entertained the thought of teaching to give back what she has received through yoga.

In 2016 she started her journey in becoming certified with Yoga Medicine founded by Tiffany Cruikshank. She will be a 200hr level yoga instructor in August and aspires to continue on to 500hr training to further her knowledge to serve her community.

Her perspective on yoga is to keep is safe and playful. She is a believer in protecting your body and mind with yoga as well as having fun and not taking yourself too seriously. Since Jessica has also found joy in jiu-jitsu she hopes to combine the importance of yoga postures and how they can benefit jiu-jitsu practice.”

Jennifer has been a dedicated yogini for over 5 years. She first found yoga when she developed a hip injury, and dove right in once she experienced the healing yoga gave to her physically but was surprised at the benefits she received mentally.

Since then, her passion for learning about the art and teaching it to others has been a journey that has led her to heal herself in many ways, and in return, she wants to show others that they are also capable of overcoming stress, anxiety, and depression through their practice.

“In the beginning of my journey, I wanted to heal my body from injuries, but what I learned is yoga is more than that.”

In 2012, Jennifer was diagnosed with PTSD and found that yoga, meditation, and the art of mindfulness was the path to healing herself. After many years of studying & participating in various study’s of therapy & meditation practices, she has found a gift for healing.

Jennifer is a Brazilan Jiu-jitsu Brown Belt & has been a practitioner of jiu-jitsu for almost 9 years, and she has seen and felt first-hand how injuries can keep us away from the mat & enjoying our daily lives; which is why she specializes in Restorative Yoga.

“Restorative yoga is learning how to rest, and with our busy lives we lead, we have lost our ability to relax. I want to show you how to restore what is natural, our ability to relax.”

In Jennifer’s class, you will learn how to rest, how to quiet your mind and learn how to use yoga in every sense to help us stay relaxed & find a happy balance between rest & activity.
